 Charitable deductions does not work properly. Mar 13, 2010
The charitable deductions section does not work properly. Trying to input both a car donation and household items has sent it into a tizzy. It starts asking for cost basis on the household items as well as the cars. In the subwindows, it decides that all the household items were cars also and asks for 1098C info on those.
Incredibly frustrating.

This was the first time I did my own taxes and I did a lot of research to find the right one. All of the reviews led me back to this product and they weren't wrong. This was very easy to use and I received my return in about 5 business days.

I've been using Turbotax for many years and have never had a problem. They do seem to tweek it each year, making it easier and easier. This year I had a problem e-filing my state return. After filing it Intuit sent an automated email saying there was a processing error and that I would have to file a paper return. Okay, not a big deal, but I checked my credit card statement and they still charged me $19.95 for the e-file and even after 6 days I still hadn't received a refund. I was dreading calling their customer service number, thinking it would take forever. I was pleasantly surprised. Even though the website said the current wait was about 30 minutes, I was through to a rep within a couple of minutes and she cleared everything up right way. I don't know why you would ever pay someone to file your taxes when Intuit makes it so easy!!

First time I used it on a Mac. Very pleased with the speed, operation and ease of use.

I bought the version with an enclosed dvd, then later I bought a new mini computer that has no dvd drive. So I went online to TurboTax to see if I could just download it instead with the serial number of the dvd I purchased thru Amazon. I submitted my question via the turbotax online chat and the best they could suggest was to return the dvd product to Amazon and buy the download version instead. What a hassle!! If I paid my money, they should give me a key code to download or dvd regardless of the format. Afterall when you load the DVD of Turbotax you have to download an update file that takes nearly 15 minutes anyway. Not very customer centric on this one. Otherwise I've been a loyal customer of turbotax for years.
